Welcome to the project page for COLLATERAL, the cyber-punk taxi-driving game.

Step into the driving seat of a highly customizable and heavily armed flying taxi in the amoral cyberpunk future of Collateral. You play as Zack Edgewater, an average Joe hover cab driver, caught between warring factions, bloodthirsty customers, and the corrupt corporations that run the city of New Bedlam. The city is under lockdown, and your goal is to earn enough favour with one of the city’s factions to gain access to passcodes that allow you to leave the city. Win favour with your chosen faction by undertaking a variety of missions that test your speed, driving skills, and accuracy, then spend your hard earned cash on a huge assortment of weapons and upgrades for your cab. Every mission you complete brings you one step closer to escaping this depraved, maniacal metropolis.

Hi! My name is Kyle Jones and I am a recent cancer sufferer. I was in the Hospital 2 weeks ago and I saw one of the creators mums. She told me to visit this website, so I did. I think it looks amazing, unfortunately I don’t have Facebook and I am not allowed to have it. I will for sure tell all of my family and friends. But if you see you mum, tell her I said hi, she is a nurse at the Royal Childrens Hospital. Thanks so much guys for reading my comment! :) Hope you have a fun time making this game and please keep in contact so I can speak to you guys because I want to be the first to play it and I promise I will comment everytime I come to this website.

    Have fun!
    Your Sincerelys,
    Kyle Jones

  4. Michael says:

I was wondering when will the open beta be released? Im really looking forward to it after playing the game at the VCE Careers expo a few days ago.

    • David says:

Hi Michael. Thanks for stopping by at the expo. We’ll be releasing the beta in the third quarter this year. At the moment we can’t be precise and we don’t want to promise a date we can’t live up to, so keep an eye out here or on our Facebook page for an announcement when the time comes.

Is there anyway to contact you via mail?

  6. Bacon says:

Hey guys, hows things with getting it on steam going? I voted for it last year I think. How many votes are needed till it gets approved or is it just a matter of time now? I study at AIE too (2nd year now) and really loved the artwork and what you showed us last year.

    • David says:

Greenlight is going well, and thanks for your support. We’re currently sitting in the top 20, so hopefully it’s only a matter of time now. It’s not exactly about getting a certain number of votes, just being one of the games with the most votes when Valve choose the next group to be Greenlit. Trust me, we’ll make a big deal out of getting Greenlit so you’ll know when it happens. -David

  7. Jesterious says:

Well, I purchased the game last night through the widget, and havent been able to get it to play, I mean it starts up fine but when I get in th egame my taxi is all jacked up looking and It wont move or drive around anywhere. I have tried using a game pad and Mouse and keyboard. any suggestions?

    • David says:

Sounds like a known issue we’ve encountered before. You should be able to resolve this by right-clicking the executable and selecting to “Run as administrator”. We’re working on figuring that one out and fixing it, hopefully soon.
EDIT: Another option is to install the game somewhere other than Program Files. For some reason that is causing an issue with reading/writing to the player save file. Again, we’re looking into it.

      • Jesterious says:

OOOooooo man, hyped to try this work around out, and no worries, I have just become used to putting it into admin to begin with anyway. just slipped my mind this time around lol. thanks again for this, I’ll get back to you tomorrow and tell ya how it went. cheers!

How to fix “ran out of video memory” ???
Run under Desura, please help thanks.

    • David says:

Hi Jean, can you list your system specs for us so we can look into the issue? And can you tell us when the error occurred? Collateral is still not very well optimized at present, so we do sometimes come across problems like this. We have our current system requirements listed on the front page now. These are subject to change, but at the moment they are:

OS: Windows XP/Vista/7 32/64-bit (Windows 8 is not supported at this time however many have had luck running the game, this will be fixed in a soon to come update)
      CPU: 2.4ghz Intel/AMD Dual-Core processor
      RAM: 4GB
GPU: 1024mb 100% DirectX 9.0c compatible Video Card (NVIDIA GTS 250/AMD Radeon 4770 or above, NVIDIA GTX 570/AMD Radeon 6870 Recommended)
HDD: 2GB + Space required for installation of .NET Framework 4.0 and DirectX 9.0c
      Sound: 100% DirectX 9.0c compatible

      • jean says:

        My system spec as below,
        OS: Windows 7
        CPU: Intel i5-2400
        Ram: 4GB
        GPU: GeForce GT430
HDD: Installed at “E:” drive with 100GB free space
        Sound: Directx 9.0C

the game can start, but after i press “new game”, it load few seconds then turn dark screen and pop out the error message “ran out of video memory exiting”
